Under the generous sponsorship of the Colleges Vice Dean for Admission, Registration, and Student Affairs, and in celebration of the International Arabic Language Day, which falls on 12/18/2015 AD, the Student Affairs Administration, in cooperation with the General Preparation Department, organized the colleges’ celebration in the language of the Holy Qur’an, the Arabic language, by organizing a cultural program over three days. From 12/15-17/2015 AD, including holding a number of diverse cultural lectures delivered by some of the faculty members, which dealt with multiple aspects of highlighting the linguistic miracle in the Holy Qur’an, preserving identity, and human dignity in respecting language and tongue.
Through this event, the Colleges of Knowledge aim to raise their students to be proud of the language of the Qur’an, and to demonstrate its influence in their academic and practical lives, as the Arabic language was the language of diverse sciences and knowledge in the past and one of the richest languages in the entire world.
It is worth noting that December 18th marks the entire world’s celebration of International Arabic Language Day issued by United Nations Resolution No. 3190, which approves the inclusion of the Arabic language among the official languages of the world and the working languages of the United Nations.
The events were attended by the Acting Head of the General Preparation Department, Dr. Marwan Al-Fahhad, the Director of the Student Affairs Department, Dr. Abdullah Al-Juhani, and the Supervisor of the Student Affairs Department, Muhannad Yahya, amid a remarkable student presence, expressing their happiness and thanks for holding this event, which reflects all appreciation and pride in the language of the Holy Quran.
