Program Overview

The Master's program in Clinical Pharmacy is designed to prepare highly skilled pharmacy professionals who will fill the leadership vacuum in different clinical specialties and research. The program will meet the current needs of hospitals, academic facilities, research centers and community health set-ups. The target candidates will be Pharm. D graduates and pharmacists who have obtained a Bachelors's Degree in pharmacy. To be eligible for the Masters's degree, the student will have to demonstrate that he /she meets the academic standards set by the College and satisfactorily complete the clinical training of one year. The academic standards include demonstrated ability to serve as preceptors in clerkships and ability to carry out publishable research

The program will produce pharmacy professionals who meet international standards in clinical pharmacy practice, clinical research, and systems-based practice. In a few years, the program will attain a commanding status in clinical pharmacy education and leadership in the Middle East.


 

Program Objectives

  1. Provide pharmacists with the advanced knowledge and skills essential to the clinical practice of pharmacy in a variety of hospital and community settings. 
  2. Prepare graduates to assume leadership in the provision of pharmaceutical care and advance the practice of pharmacy. 
  3. Execute accurately the therapeutic plans prepared by the health cared team and report any drug-related concerns. 
  4. Enhance the culture of patient safety and partnership with other healthcare disciplines. 
  5. Produce pharmacy professionals who meet international standards in critical thinking, excellence in clinical research, and systems-based practice 
  6. Develop clinical pharmacy professionals who can work as faculty members in academic institutes.
