Almaarefa University launches a “research chair” for life quality in Ad Diriyah

                       AlMaarefa University has inaugurated the “Quality of Life” chair in Ad Diriyah.  It aims to exploit scientific research and the accompanying innovations to contribute to meliorating life quality for the individual and society in Ad Diriyah Governorate.  The inauguration took place after the approval of the University Council and coincided with the Kingdom's celebration of the founding day. The establishment of AlMaarefa University for a scientific chair for research and innovation in the field of quality of life in Ad Diriyah is an embodiment of the university’s role that goes beyond the educational process to community service and contribution to Vision 2030 and interest in developing the university’s local environment and ameliorating the quality of life.  AlMaarefa University was distinguished by its strategic location in Ad Diriyah, the historical capital of the Kingdom, which represents a great historical value, and was the starting point for the establishment of the first Saudi state and its capital three centuries ago, and it played the pivotal role in the political and heritage history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The establishment of the Quality Life Chair in Ad Diriyah is of great importance to the university and its role in the formation of distinguished scientific and research competencies and its partners in supporting the development of Ad Diriyah and its community through scientific research, community service and the establishment of training and volunteer programs, especially in the field of improving the quality of life for the city to become a distinguished healthy environment.

The “Quality of Life in Ad Diriyah” chair aspires to play a leading role in background and applied research in the fields of health, sports, environment, tourism and accompanying services on quality of life in Ad Diriyah. With the aim of proposing a practical plan for future development.  The chair's vision includes focusing on social demographic and physical development to achieve the highest standards of human quality of life. Research depends on global indicators to measure quality of life, while adapting them according to local factors and variables. The “Quality of Life in Ad Diriyah” chair represents a scientific field that supports the University to implement its distinguished partnership with the Ad Diriyah Gate Development Authority and gives an opportunity to provide research contributions to students and those interested in scientific research.  

College of Applied Sciences promotes partnership with the Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Mazen Al-Qahtani, Dean of the College of Applied Sciences at Al-Maarifa University, held a meeting with Eng. Mansour Al-Obeid, Chairman of the Information Technology Committee, and its members at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh. Both sides discussed: ways to strengthen partnership in various areas, supporting youth empowerment in training and employment in the field of information technology, and the study of the Saudi market and its needs for skills and knowledge in technology and digital transformation areas. Also, It is noteworthy that the College of Applied Sciences had previously obtained the Academic Accreditation from the German Academic Accreditation Authority, ASIIN - Global Leader in Quality Assurance in Higher Education, in the Computer Program, Information Systems Program and Health Information Systems Program, which constitutes a global recognition for the quality of the College's programs.  

The College of Pharmacy: preparation for the Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Examination

The College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with King Saud University, organized a preparatory course for the Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Examination (SPLE). It aims to qualify internship students and college graduates and provide them with the necessary knowledge and practical skills for the Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Examination.  This course comes within the university's strategy, which aims to qualify and build competencies to participate in the labor market and update them on the latest scientific and technical developments in the specialized areas.  It is worth noting that the students of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Maarifa University are ranked first among the private universities in the Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Examination. That's because of the distinction of teaching staff and the University's Output Concern.

Induction day for internship students

The College of Applied Sciences, represented by the Clinical and Technical Training Committee at Al Maarefa University, held an induction day for the internship students on Wednesday 29/01/2020 under the auspices and presence of the Acting Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Khaled bin Muhammad Al-Jarallah.

The event is opened with a speech from the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Khaled Al-Jarallah. After that, Professor Wael El-Sherbiny gave a lecture on how to succeed in a personal interview.Dr. Tariq Al-Tom presented a lecture on his biography and its importance in the future. His teacher Hanin Al-Ahmadi from King Fahd Medical City presented a lecture on how to be respectful in the workplace. Followed by, Professor Saja Al-Murshid who presented her lecture on emotional intelligence and its importance for success in the work environment. Then, there was a lecture on the laws of training and internship by Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Zamil. Finally, Dr. Saad Al-Asiri gave a motivational speech to both male and female students which included information about the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, based on his experience in the area.

In conclusion, all the speakers were honored, and supplication was made to  Almighty God for success and steadfastness for all internship students.

On Tuesday 2/4/1442 17/11/2020, under the patronage of the University Rector Professor, Waleed H. Abu Alfaraj and with the presence of Vice Rector Dr.Nasser bin Ali Aljarallah and Dean of pharmacy faculty Dr.Mohammed Jabber Alyamani and its Vice Rector and department heads.

He began by welcoming the graduates assuring the university’s concern to continue such meetings to affirm the concept of communication with its students. Such meetings allows the University to listen to their opinions and remarks and wishing them the best of luck in their academic and practical lives. 

Then, University Rector stated a clarifying speech about their preparations to enhance the performance and determine the possibility to enter the post-graduate education and open MA program soon. Moreover, he emphasized the importance of exposing the graduate to the university’s journey and keeping him up with its events as an authorized representative and a bright image of the university. He also motivated the graduates to the significance of communicating with the teaching staff and faculty administration through various communication channels. The event concluded with a question and answer session, graduates were given the opportunity to speak out their enquiries and questions directly which contained many vital subjects for graduates in understanding and respectful vibes as a one family.
