Al-Maarifa University hosted the Autism Families Association in the association’s annual meeting, organized by the University’s Social Responsibility Unit, on Wednesday, 04/03/2019 AD, in the Great Diriyah Hall at the university’s headquarters.
The honorable ceremony began with the royal anthem in the voice of the association’s students, after which fragrant verses from the Holy Quran were recited, and then the chair of the association’s board of directors, Her Highness Princess Samira Al-Faisal Al Saud, gave an introductory speech about the association and its history, after which Dr. Nasser Al-Jarallah, Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, gave a welcoming speech to the association. And the importance of caring for the nation’s youth with special needs. He thanked the association for their efforts and keenness. After that, the association’s students participated in performing a play entitled “I Am Human.” After that, Her Highness Princess Dr. Fahda bint Abdulaziz Al Saud, the general supervisor, presented a paper entitled “Traits of Autism,” and Dr. Hadiya presented Al-Harbi, founder of the program, an introduction to the recreational sports program held in the association.
At the end of the ceremony and the conclusion of the annual event, members of the association were honored, and then the exhibition accompanying the participants was visited, which contains the works of students of autism centers and the mechanism for benefiting from them for families with autism.
Hosting the university was based on the importance of participating and supporting such groups in society. The university wished the students with autism and their families good luck and success in their lives and to bless them in their knowledge and work.
