The following matters were discussed:
Academic guidance is represented by the existence of an academic relationship between the student and the advisor, which helps the advisor to work with his students in a team spirit to improve the educational process and also discuss problems that the student may face during his studies.
Dr. Zakaria Al-Zamil explained that one of the most important goals of academic guidance is to work to raise students’ competence through close follow-up from the academic advisor. So, the academic advising process is considered the basic structure that helps the college communicate with students, know the most important obstacles they face during the semester, and work to solve them appropriately. Accordingly, the counseling process is limited to a specific type of student, but rather includes all students, regardless of their grades.
Dr.. Ibrahim Al-Atoum confirmed that all students were distributed among the faculty members. All members were quick to announce office and advising hours during the semester, as well as the names of the students. He also emphasized the department's established policy, which is an open-door policy for suggestions and problems that the student may face.
Dr. Zakaria Al-Zamil explained that academic guidance is an acquired right for the student and that the goal of this process is to achieve the outcomes that the college aspires to, the most important of which is the student’s orientation. The colleges of knowledge strive for their students to be an example of creativity and excellence and a symbol of which the college is proud.
