The Student Affairs Department at Sahara Mall, in cooperation with the Student Club for Health Education in Colleges, and in conjunction with World Diabetes Day, which falls on November 14, 2017 AD, organized an educational awareness event about diabetes and its danger to the individual’s health and the waste of energy and wealth it causes.
The event included an introduction to the harms of diabetes, its causes and complications, a section for measuring blood sugar and blood pressure, and introducing the ideal weight.
The importance of healthy eating and physical activity, which helps reduce the risk of this disease, was also highlighted. The colleges aim by holding this event to educate all members of society about the seriousness of this disease and its association with many chronic diseases and pathological disorders, and to call for concerted efforts in the health and educational sectors to reduce the high rate of this disease through awareness and education.
