Based on the academic calendar of the colleges and in the presence of His Excellency the General Supervisor of the Colleges, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Mulhim, accompanied by His Excellency the Vice Dean of Colleges for Admission, Registration, and Student Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Zamil, the ceremony took place yesterday, Wednesday, 3/30/2016 AD, and immediately after the Maghrib prayer. The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Vice Deans, Deans, Heads of Academic Departments, and all members of the administrative and teaching bodies.
Over the course of two and a half hours, and amidst a remarkable turnout from parents, the meeting began with a welcome speech from the Vice President of the Student Council, Musab Yaqoub, welcoming the attending parents and college employees, announcing the first paragraphs of the meeting with fragrant verses that filled the audience’s ears, followed by the student Ammar Murshid. Then came the speech of the general supervisor of the colleges, who in turn welcomed, on behalf of all college employees, the parents of the male and female students, and the colleges’ keenness on this blessed meeting, which aims to extend bridges of communication and cooperation between the parents and the deanship of the colleges directly to receive comments, inquiries, and suggestions with all transparency and frankness, which distinguishes the colleges from Other universities, then His Excellency shed light on the activities and events that were accomplished in the second semester of the academic year 2015 AD, perhaps the most prominent of which was the inclusion of the College of Medicine in the list of the Global Directory of Medical Colleges, as well as the graduates’ ceremony for the first batch of male and female students from the colleges, which It was held under the generous patronage of His Highness the Governor of Daiya, Prince Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Saud. The most prominent activities and events for the current academic year 2015 - 2016 were also mentioned, varying between sports, cultural and social activities, perhaps the most prominent of which is the College Football League, as well as a group of awareness lectures such as the Be Smart lecture in cooperation with An intelligent program, as well as a symposium of the Scientific Forum for Drug Prevention in Educational Environments, and the holding of accompanying exhibitions in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the National Committee for Combating Drugs, as well as the launch of the advantages of knowledge, accompanied by a visual presentation on the main display screen.
Then His Excellency announced the opening of the floor to receive the questions and inquiries of parents, and His Excellency answered those inquiries and also directed them to His Excellency the deputies and deans, each according to his specialty.
The College of Medicine received the largest share of inquiries about training locations and the possibility of adding other hospitals, as well as inquiries about fellowship exams, and the possibility of involving parents in developing the strategic plan for the colleges, as well as the possibility of colleges offering summer courses. Inquiries were also made about establishing guidance programs on the academic side. by their fellow students, demanding that they focus on extracurricular activities. The issue of scholarships provided by colleges, their types and controls, and many other inquiries were also discussed, which reflect the great extent of interaction shown by parents in their eagerness to attend this occasion.
The meeting concluded with the General Supervisor thanking the brothers in the Department of Student Affairs and Public Relations for the good organization. He also thanked his children, the students of the Student Council, for their good reception of parents. He also thanked everyone who attended, then he invited everyone to eat snacks and juices.
