In response to an invitation from Monash University in Australia, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Ghurallah Al-Zahrani The Head of the Department of Emergency Medical Services at Al-Maarifa Colleges visited the Department of Community Emergency Health and Advanced First Aid Applications at Monash University (DCEHPP) on the twenty-eighth of last August (08/28/2016) for two weeks.
During this visit, His Excellency met with officials at the university and those in charge of the department and participated in the meetings that were held to follow up on the practical steps in activating and developing the existing cooperation agreements and procedures for exchanging students and faculty members between the two institutions. The visit included a tour of some of Victoria's ground and air ambulance centres, and was briefed on their advanced medical supplies and equipment. A meeting was also held with the Chief of Operations at Ambulance Victoria, Mr. Ian Patrick to discuss giving an opportunity to outstanding students in the Emergency Medical Services Department from Al-Maarifa Colleges to spend part of the internship year in the Victoria Ambulance Centers affiliated with the university.
The desired goal of the visit was achieved in strengthening scientific and practical cooperation and exchanging experiences in the field of emergency medical services, training and postgraduate studies between Al-Ma’rifa Colleges of Science and Technology and specialized international universities and centres.
