Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Yasser bin Abdulkarim Al-Turki, and in the presence of Dr. Nasser Jarallah, Vice Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, the first academic guidance meeting for the Computer Department for the second semester of the academic year 2015 - 2016 was held on Wednesday, 2/3/2016, to clarify the importance of academic guidance and the necessity of communication. Between the student and the academic advisor on a regular and regular basis.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Atoum, Assistant Head of the Department for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Juhani, Director of Student and Faculty Affairs in the Computer Department.
The meeting began with a speech by Dr. Nasser Jarallah, who explained that one of the most important goals of academic guidance is working to raise students’ efficiency through close follow-up by the academic advisor. He also touched on the importance of innovation and invention for students, promising to help in registering distinctive and practical ideas and obtaining patents to preserve their rights. .
While Dr. Ibrahim Al-Atoum, Assistant Head of the Department, confirmed in his speech that the knowledge colleges seek to make their students an example of creativity and excellence and a symbol of which the colleges are proud through their participation in various research and scientific projects, stressing to the students the necessity of adhering to the lectures.
In turn, Dr. Abdullah Al-Juhani stressed the need for students to participate in the extracurricular activities provided by the Student Affairs Administration and to submit various suggestions that help develop the student’s level. He also pointed to the role of the Graduate Unit in following up on graduating students and communicating with them after graduation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Vice Dean of the College of Applied Sciences stressed the necessity of holding such meetings on an ongoing basis, especially after the semester exams.
