University leaders workshop program

A workshop was launched on Thursday, November 28, 2019 The leadership of Al-Ma’rifa University, which aspires to unify the leadership’s vision to achieve the university’s system of development goals and initiatives, which are based on its strategic plan until 2025, with the aim of constantly keeping pace with the latest plans for higher education, and consolidating quality standards and professional performance, in a persistent and diligent pursuit of knowledge creativity. And excellence at the local and global levels and in serving the community.

The workshop was opened with a speech from His Excellency Professor Dr. Walid bin Hussein Abu Al-Faraj, Director of the University. He welcomed the attendees and thanked the participants within the activities of this workshop. He appreciated the advanced steps in the university’s journey, which reflected positively on the quality of the outputs. His Excellency stressed the necessity of permanent review of the plans, programs and objectives assigned to achieve the vision of the Kingdom. 2030 in its educational programs and methods,

Then, His Excellency Dr. Nasser bin Ali Al-Jarallah, Acting Vice Rector of the University, presented an overview of the university’s strategic objectives and the most important development initiatives for the current year. He also noted the importance of holding such scientific meetings to keep pace with the educational process and achieve continuous improvement and development of performance.

The workshop consisted of two basic sessions (academic accreditation, quality of outputs, and modern trends in teaching and learning).

The first session was moderated by His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Jarallah, Acting Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, which was divided into two axes: the first on “Academic Accreditation of University Programs,” and he made an illustrative presentation of this axis.  Mr. Jamal Samaida, Director of the Quality Center, focused on the importance of academic program accreditation in achieving the university’s strategic goals. The second axis is titled “International University Rankings” was presented by Professor Mohammed bin Zaid Al-Zamil, Head of the University’s Planning and Studies Unit. Then, the topics of the first session were discussed at the level of the participating groups, and the members’ comments were recorded about the elements of strength present in the university that support the initiatives, ways to enhance them, challenges or obstacles that could face the success of these initiatives, and ways to overcome them.

After that, the second dialogue session began, which clarifies  Modern trends in teaching and learning ”  Led by Dr. Hoda bint Muhammad Al-Murshed, Assistant Vice President for Female Student Affairs, this session included three topics of discussion: active learning, flipped learning, research, and student conferences. The following participated in this session: Professor Dr. Ahmed Zakaria Salem, who presented the concept of active learning, its applications, and some pictures of the applications. From the contributions of male and female students, then Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Muhaimid, Head of the Department of General Preparation and English Language, reviewed ” Flipped education” He explained the method of this educational process, its three stages, and the tools and programs used in it, and after that, Professor Dr. Abdel Moneim Mardi presented Student research and conferences”  The importance of participating in it, both locally and abroad. Then Dr. Hoda Al-Murshed concluded this session with a speech about the university’s academic and educational orientation in the Kingdom and the subsequent initiatives and projects of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Then, after completing the two sessions, Professor Jamal Samida presented the results of the workshop in the two sessions, and in conclusion, the Quality Department was honored by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Zaid Al-Zamil, and His Excellency Professor Dr. Walid bin Hussein Abu Al-Faraj, University Director, for their efforts made during a record time on the path to progress and leadership and within the framework of The race against time to fulfill the accreditation requirements, wishing them more achievements.
