The Advisory Council for Private Universities and Colleges holds its second meeting

The second meeting of the Advisory Council for Universities and Private Colleges was held on Wednesday morning, corresponding to Rabi’ al-Awwal 15, 1438 AH, corresponding to December 14, 2016 AD, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education in Riyadh, headed by the Chairman of the Council, His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Rakib Al-Shammari, university directors and deans of private colleges. The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Education. His Excellency Dr. Saad Al Fuhaid, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Private Education, His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Muhammad Al-Jarallah, Director General of the General Administration of Private Higher Education, and the administration’s advisors.

The Secretary of the Advisory Council and General Supervisor of Knowledge Colleges, Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdul Rahman Al-Mulhim, began by presenting the topics presented to the second meeting, the first of which was approving the minutes of the first meeting of the Advisory Council for Private Universities and Colleges and the Ministry of Education’s project to monitor quality in private universities and colleges, and then discussing the project to hold a forum organized by the Council. Advisory Council on private higher education in the Kingdom under the title “Reality and Aspirations”, sponsored by His Excellency the Minister of Education. The Council also discussed a memorandum from Effat University regarding reducing the fees of the General Accreditation Evaluation Commission for Institutional and Programmatic Accreditation, and discussed the proposal of His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Kanhal to address the low preparation and level of workers in The field of nursing among Saudis in the health services sector in the Kingdom, in addition to approving the activation of the committees emanating from the Council and their activities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chairman of the Council thanked His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Private Education and the Administration of Private Higher Education, the advisors, His Excellency the university directors and the deans of colleges for their participation and interaction, which had a great impact in achieving the goals of the meeting and coming up with recommendations that will have a positive and cooperative impact on the process of private higher education for private universities and colleges.
